by Toby Feuer, President
Congratulations to the newly elected Officers and Board of the Presidents’ Council, 2008-2010:
Toby Feuer, President; Jerry Pozen, Vice President; Lori Schiller, Treasurer; Jeff Margulies,
Secretary; and Board members, Theresa Carioscia, Pearl Deutch, Francisco Laboy, Stella Mesa and
Pete Montana.
Board member, Ted Elefter chose not to seek reelection to the board. We thank him for his 28 years
of service to our community and still look forward to seeing him attend our meetings.
Our thanks also to City of Weston Commissioner, Murray Chermak for always apprising us of the
current happenings in the City.
Thank you to our April guest speaker, Peter Levine, Broward County Property Appraisers office for
the latest update on how the passing of Amendment #1 will affect our property taxes.
The debacle of the Bonaventure west golf course continues. Clear title of this course and the ownership
of the lakes is in the hands of the court system. Please attend our meetings to hear the latest information
and be part of the discussion.
In order to alleviate the over crowding of Cypress Bay High School, the Broward County School Board
has decided to change the school boundaries that feed into that school. One of the scenarios will be that
the entire Bonaventure community boundary will be changed to attend Western High School. Public
hearings have been scheduled. The next meeting will be on April 16th, 5:30P.M. at Plantation H.S.
Please attend our May meeting to hear the outcome of these meetings.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
May 7, 2008, our guest speaker will be Broward County Mayor, Lois Wexler. Many issues will be addressed.
June 4, 2008, School Board Member (to be announced)
PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR DISCUSSIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO MEET AND GREET
CANDIDATES FOR CIRCUIT JUDGE POSITIONS, BROWARD COUNTY SHERIFF, AND CITY
OF WESTON COMMISSIONERS.
The meetings are open to all residents, refreshments are served. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING
